UAE Launches National Design Competition for Union Day Symbolism
The United Arab Emirates has announced an open competition inviting artists, designers, creative companies, and manufacturers from across the country to develop official merchandise and symbolism for the celebration of Eid Al Etihad, marking the nation’s 54th Union Day anniversary. This initiative forms part of the Year of Communities and aims to showcase the diversity of the UAE’s creative talents while engaging them with the national narrative.
Participants are encouraged to submit designs for commemorative items that extend beyond conventional souvenirs, serving as meaningful symbols that reflect UAE identity and unite the population through shared emotions of joy and pride. The competition seeks to transform creative expression into a unifying force that strengthens the emotional connection to the country’s history and achievements.
Isa Alsubusi, Director of Strategic and Creative Affairs for the Eid Al Etihad team, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “This open competition represents an opportunity for partnership where creativity brings people together and strengthens the emotional connection to our shared national history.”
Selected designs will be featured during official events commemorating the 54th Union Day celebrations. Additionally, the competition encourages public participation by making the official Eid Al Etihad branding guidelines available on the dedicated website www.EidAlEtihad.ae, allowing individuals and organizations to create their own tributes and social media content using the approved visual identity.
The submission period remains open until October 17, providing creative professionals and enthusiasts across the Emirates with an opportunity to contribute to the nation’s most significant annual celebration through their artistic vision and design skills.
