Dubai and Abu Dhabi Host Free Workouts Ahead of Spartan Race Middle East
Preparations for the demanding Spartan Race Middle East are intensifying, and to help participants get ready, a series of free, high-intensity training sessions are launching in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. These workouts are designed to provide a crucial foundation for tackling what is widely considered one of the region’s most challenging obstacle courses. The Spartan Race demands a unique combination of raw strength, cardiovascular endurance, and mental grit, making dedicated preparation essential for all participants.
The first session is scheduled for this Sunday, September 28th, at the Warehouse Gym in Yas Bay, Abu Dhabi. Organizers are offering two identical classes at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to accommodate different schedules. The following weekend, on October 5th, the free training series expands to a second location in Abu Dhabi at the Warehouse Gym in Al Quoz, and also to Dubai Science Park. These sessions will run from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Each clinic will introduce a new and comprehensive workout complex known as Spartan Strong, which is specifically crafted to simulate race conditions.
The Spartan Strong program integrates various disciplines crucial for race success. Participants can expect a demanding mix of running, weightlifting exercises, climbing simulations, and functional bodyweight movements. This holistic approach ensures that athletes develop the all-around fitness required to conquer obstacles and long-distance running segments. While the training is free, organizers emphasize that advance registration is mandatory to secure a spot, likely due to limited capacity.
These preparatory sessions lead directly into the main events. The Spartan Race Middle East competition will be held over two weekends. The first leg takes place on October 11th and 12th at the Al Ain Zoo. The season will then conclude with a grand finale on November 1st and 2nd in Hatta, as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. This final event will see a unique collaboration, with Spartan Race joining forces with another major obstacle course challenge, Tough Mudder, for an ultimate test of fitness and perseverance.
