Elon Musk’s Tesla opens UAE Roadster reservations from Dh210,000
Tesla has opened UAE reservations for its next-generation Roadster, with deposits starting at Dh210,000 and rising to Dh1.02 million for its higher-performance version.
The electric sports car, unveiled by Elon Musk in Texas last week, is now listed on Tesla’s UAE website. Buyers can reserve two versions, while a third, designed around flight capabilities, is available by invitation only.
The figures cover reservation payments. Tesla has yet to confirm final purchase prices or delivery dates, with the vehicle still under development.
Performance and Thrust offer two reservation options
The entry-level Performance version is a two-seater equipped with active aerodynamics and a multi-mode suction system that Tesla says is designed to improve grip and handling.
Reserving it requires an initial Dh20,000 payment, marked as fully refundable, followed by Dh190,000 within ten days. The total reservation payment is Dh210,000.
The limited-release Thrust version adds acceleration thrusters to the Performance model’s features. Tesla claims the system will enable acceleration from 0 to 100kph in under one second.
Its reservation requires the same initial Dh20,000, also marked as fully refundable, followed by Dh1 million within ten days, bringing the total to Dh1.02 million.
Reservations for Thrust are limited to one per customer because of restricted availability.
The invitation-only Rocket takes the concept further
The third version, Rocket, is a single-seater that Tesla describes as having a full flight system.
Its proposed configuration uses cold-gas thrusters positioned around the vehicle. Tesla says these will allow upward and forward acceleration, sideways rotation while airborne and rapid adjustments to maintain stability.
Access to this version is restricted to invited buyers, and no reservation amount has been published.
Tesla also states that Rocket is not approved for public-road use. Its availability will depend on regional restrictions and local laws, so its appearance within the Roadster line-up does not establish that it will be available to UAE customers.
What a reservation actually secures
Under Tesla’s Roadster Reservation Agreement, a booking becomes effective after the company receives the full reservation payment and confirms it by email.
The reservation establishes an approximate priority position. Customers will be invited to configure their vehicles and complete the purchase process closer to production.
Tesla is still developing the Roadster’s options, features and hardware, leaving the final price to be determined when buyers configure their cars. If a purchase proceeds, the reservation payment will be credited against that price.
The initial Dh20,000 is labelled fully refundable on the booking page; that description should be distinguished from the larger total reservation amounts.
Musk targets production in 2028
Musk has said production of the redesigned Roadster will begin in 2028, but Tesla has not announced when customer deliveries will start.
Its reservation agreement explicitly states: “No delivery date is offered, implied or guaranteed.” The company also says it accepts no liability for delays.
The second-generation Roadster was first revealed in 2017, making the new unveiling another significant stage in a long development process.
For UAE buyers, reservations are now open. The remaining milestones include final vehicle specifications, confirmed pricing and a delivery schedule.
