UAE launches AI Cyber Factory as cyber threats intensify
The UAE is taking another major step toward strengthening its digital resilience. The UAE Cyber Security Council, together with CPX Holding, has announced the launch of the UAE Cyber Factory — a new initiative designed to reinforce the country’s cyber sovereignty and expand its role as a leader in advanced digital security.
The timing is significant. According to the UAE Cyber Security Council, the country has recorded more than 800,000 cyberattacks per day in recent months, underlining how quickly digital threats are scaling in both volume and complexity. Against this backdrop, the new factory is being positioned not simply as another security project, but as a strategic response to a rapidly changing cyber landscape affecting both institutions and individuals.
At the core of the initiative is a focus on artificial intelligence-powered cybersecurity systems. The UAE Cyber Factory is expected to design, build, and scale a new generation of cyber capabilities, helping the country detect, prevent, and respond to attacks with greater speed and precision. The broader goal is to create a more adaptive defence model — one that can keep pace with increasingly sophisticated threats.
Officials are also framing the project as part of a bigger national ambition. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the launch marks a new phase of leadership, positioning the UAE as a global hub for advanced cybersecurity and as a digital power helping shape the future of the sector. He added that the country aims not only to protect itself, but also to innovate by developing technologies capable of detecting, preventing, and deterring cyber threats effectively.
What makes the project especially important is its emphasis on sovereign capability. The Cyber Factory is being described as a fully integrated ecosystem that gives the UAE end-to-end ownership of its cybersecurity tools and systems. In practical terms, that means stronger digital independence, faster response capacity, and a more locally built framework for protecting government entities, businesses, and the public.
For CPX Holding, the initiative is also about building long-term national infrastructure. CEO Hadi Anwar said the Cyber Factory marks a major step toward a future-ready cybersecurity ecosystem by bringing together local talent, advanced engineering, and innovation developed in the UAE. He noted that the project will strengthen national ownership of digital defences while helping create a safer and more resilient environment across the country.
