Vinicius Junior arrives in Dubai for Real Madrid commercial duties
Vinicius Junior has arrived in Dubai to fulfil commercial commitments for Real Madrid, with the Brazilian forward’s visit taking place during his four-match suspension from La Liga.
The trip brings one of football’s most recognisable players to a city with established ties to his club. Dubai became Real Madrid’s first official destination partner in 2023, while Emirates has maintained a relationship with the Spanish team for more than a decade.
For the 26-year-old, the visit also comes ahead of international duty, with Brazil preparing to play its final two matches of 2026 in Singapore.
Club commitments away from the pitch
Vinicius was absent from Real Madrid’s training sessions while carrying out his duties in Dubai. The trip is reported to form part of a commercial agreement that includes an annual visit to the city.
His suspension provided a window to complete those commitments before joining the Brazilian national team. Dubai’s location also places him closer to Singapore, where Brazil’s November fixtures will take place.
The forward received his four-match ban following his dismissal during Real Madrid’s 1–0 victory over Villarreal on October 10. He was sent off for pulling opponent Nathan Saliba’s hair, with his subsequent protests contributing to the punishment.
The suspension covers the league fixtures against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander and Valencia.
Dubai’s partnership with Real Madrid
Real Madrid and Visit Dubai announced their global partnership on October 5, 2023, formalising a collaboration that connects the city’s tourism ambitions with the club’s international audience.
The agreement was signed at Real Madrid City by club president Florentino Pérez and Issam Kazim, chief executive of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
Covering both the men’s and women’s first football teams, the partnership was designed to create experiences for supporters and introduce Dubai to fans at the Santiago Bernabéu.
It also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, linking the city’s destination marketing with a club followed by supporters around the world. Vinicius’s commercial visit sits within that wider relationship between football, tourism and international promotion.
An Emirates connection extending to 2031
The club’s relationship with Dubai also includes its longstanding partnership with Emirates. The airline became a sponsor in 2011 and the team’s main sponsor in 2013.
In June 2026, the two organisations announced an extension through 2031. Emirates continues as the official main sponsor and airline of Real Madrid’s men’s and women’s football teams, with branding across match kits, training clothing and coaching staff apparel.
The renewal also includes sponsorship of the club’s basketball division. Beyond the shirts, the relationship encompasses stadium visibility, hospitality and experiences for fans.
Over the years, Emirates has featured Real Madrid players on aircraft liveries and collaborated with the club on player meetings, matchday activities and competitions.
Next stop: international duty
Vinicius was named in Carlo Ancelotti’s 26-player Brazil squad for the November international window. Brazil will face Japan on November 14 before playing Singapore on November 17, with both matches scheduled at Singapore’s National Stadium.
The fixtures will conclude Brazil’s international programme for the year. For Ancelotti, they offer another opportunity to assess players and develop the squad as work continues towards the next major tournaments.
Vinicius’s schedule therefore moves from commercial responsibilities in Dubai to national-team football in Southeast Asia, before his return to domestic action with Real Madrid.
